Here Goes.......

I have been hemming an hawing about this giveaway since I came across it about a week ago.  Should I??  Shouldn't I??  I looked around my home and thought what a fantastic chance this would be to have someone come into your home and make over a room...work their magic....Awesome opportunity right??

But what room to pick?  Then I went and looked at some of the bloggers who also wanted the opportunity to have a room done...then I was back to...Should I??  Shouldn't I??

I was still undecided up until today when something or someone gave me a little pushed and said you need to do this for your daughter....it was a whisper in my ear, a magical touch on my shoulder and then I came home from work and grabbed my camera and went down the stairs....

(dear Lord I hope she doesn't kill me)

We moved into this house last July 24th.  We are a three family house.  My mother lives in an attached in law quarters, my husband and I live upstairs and my oldest daughter lives in what is at this point an efficiency apartment.

(that is her sleeper sofa)

Shannon (my daughter) has the whole downstairs.  There is another room behind the door to the left that will eventually become her bedroom.  And if you scroll back up to the kitchen shot to the right of the fridge there is a door that leads out to the other side of the basement that has her bathroom in it and will eventually become two more bedrooms for the kids (right now the kids are upstairs with us)

(I really think she's going to kill me...)

Shannon had money set aside to start on the rooms on both sides but unfortunately she is going through a "nasty" divorce and child custody issues.  All of the monies have now gone to paying for lawyers and she just can't seem to catch a break.  This has been going on for over a year with the case getting postponed for one reason or another, having to get rid of her first lawyer and getting a more expensive better lawyer, having judge shortages in our county...pretty much you name it it's happened.  Through a huge misunderstanding by the judge and a very sucky (hence the new lawyer) lawyer her (Please Lord..) almost ex-husband got custody of the two kids.

(door to other side of basement)
(see the two different colors of paint...she's painted twice down here now)

Any hoooooo...the whole thing is a big mess...the kids are upset (they are 5 and 3), my daughter is upset and very depressed (this is a lot for anyone to handle let alone a 28 year old) and I thought this would be something nice to do for her.

So.....here is my entry into the giveaway......I hope you will consider coming to Pennsylvania and I want to wish everyone good luck!

God Bless and thank you for sharing this wonderful opportunity!

Thanks again for your consideration!!

Thank You, Thank You, Copy Cats and Thrifted Finds...

I can't believe it's been over a week since I posted but then with Holy Week and Easter it was a very, very busy week!  It was a very emotional week for me and the Lord was working his magic....I am blessed!

So.......

A few weeks back one of the many giveaways I've entered was on Daniella Hayes blog Layers of Creativity...she was hosting a giveaway in honor of getting to 100 followers (Congrats Daniella)!!  The lovely prize was from Erin over at Peony Wire Works...three awesome wire covered jars and a strawberry wire artsy hangy thingy that I fell in love with.....the package came on Good Friday...I walked in the door and there it was on my kitchen table....

I was so excited....couldn't wait to rip into that bad boy....

And here they are!  Aren't they just the cutest things ever??  As soon as I saw them I knew what I wanted to do with them....and look at the cute little tag that Erin sent with......but wait....

The cutest ever....I have it hanging on my wooden boxes in the dining room right now.  So Erin....Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

I hope you all pop on over to Daniella's and Erin's and check out their amazing blogs!!

Saturday I thought I would surprise everyone and make this awesome Rice Krispie Pizza that I found copied over at Cookies and Cups so stinkin cute.  Off to the market (pure craziness) I went to get the supplies.  Of course when it's the day before Easter some of the candies can't be found....like the bunnys so here is my version.....

The kids called it PeeP Pizza....now this makes alot so it would be perfect for a party....the next time we make a version of this we're going to try switching out the Fruity Pebbles for Coco Pebbles...the icing is to die for but then again I'm a sucker for some good homemade icing..

SAAAAAWEEEEEEEEET.....

The other borrowed copied recipe that I found was over at Cozy Little Kitchen.  Leslie has kindly shared a family recipe for Hummingbird Cake and let me tell you it is one of the most DELISH cakes I've had the pleasure of eating.  Now when you visit Leslie's blog you will see how pretty she did her cake and she gives you step by step directions.  Me....being the Last Minute Louie that I am waited until after church on Sunday...yup I really did....to bake this cake!  I made mine in a 9 X 13 pan.  Generously buttered the pan (didn't use parchment), added the chopped pecans to the icing (OMGoodness is it good icing) and dotted the top with a few whole ones.

I wish I would have taken a picture of the cake in it's whole but when I say I'm a last minute Louie....I iced this cake and we flew out the door.  What I can tell you is that this cake was a HUGE hit!!  Thank you Leslie for sharing!!

Now....

Just a quick couple of shots of my last Wednesday's GW finds.....everything you see only cost me $6.00 and change......

The bigger bunny is a pitcher.  I love the little white ceramic rabbit and his friend next to him will be used next year.  LOVE the basket...was thinking about painting it but I really like the green.  I think I'm going to use it outside and put flowers in it.  It's wire so it will most likely go on our fence.  The utensil is one of many older looking kitchen tools that I have been collecting...I will show the collection at a later date!

I hope you all had a blessed Easter.  Thank you all so much for stopping by and leaving such nice comments on my posts.

Hugs,

"MeMe" Sue

Love how an old cheese dome can turn into a cloche!

I just love these cards...they add such a sparkly touch.
The apothacary jars were found at Home Goods....

The jars are at home right now sitting on top of my entertainment center

I do love to have things that look more vintage if possible.

But sometimes you just have to go with the new....

(hmmmm....guess I should have put eggs in that basket...)

I just wanted to share some of my Easter decor.
But remember it's not about the bunny......

Death by Glue Gun.....And a SUPER Surprise!

Well not really...but it sure felt like it...UGH!

Here is the culprit....or should I say the little clear stick that rests inside.  See it hiding in there.  All I was doing was minding my own business...making a little sumthin for Easter and it got me.

It was that green one...that was the one that decided to slip out of my hand right after I put a huge glob of piping hot glue on it...yup you guessed it....my instinct was to grab the little green egg as if it were a fragile thing waiting to hit the counter top and splatter into a million pieces.  OUCH.................

That glue hit my finger and dried faster than ever before.  Why does it not dry that fast when I put my eggs on??  THE PAIN.....

Please let me go through child birth.....it hurt more than that...NOT KIDDING!!  Thank goodness my grandchildren weren't there because I said a few choice words.....All for this lovely.....

It was worth it...I think....

I saw this wreath on a wonderful blog that I so can't remember who...so if you see this "wonderful crafty blogger" I thank you very much.  It looks so pretty on my door...even though I thought I was going to lose my finger *wink*

This Lil Piggy Went To Market

This Lil Piggy stayed home......

Anyone who knows me (and I know your just getting to know me) knows (yeah I said know again) that I adore pigs!  I can't remember when my love affair with the little pink cuties started...someone gave me one and then BAM....

They make me smile......

Even squeel when I see one I love......

Don't they look like they want to snuggle up next to you and be your forever friends??

Most of the piglets that aren't packed away from the move are housed in the kitchen....and I've gotten very picky with my pink friends.

These little porkers I bought as a gift for Emeril....I was going to a food network show and just wanted to meet Emeril and have him sign my cookbook!  I was so excited until we got downtown and hadn't bought tickets first and the line was all the way to East Bumble....needless to say we did not meet Emeril, have the book signed or give him the piggies...sigh....

So sweet.......

Porcelain porcine cutie sitting in vintage depression (I think it is anyway) glass.

Little clay Oinker that my granddaughter made me with the help of Poppy Rick.

And these Lil Piggies went......wheeeeeee, wheeeeee, wheeeeee....all the way home!
