Happy Friday!

Another work week has come and gone and I for one am happy to see it leave.  What a L O N G week this has been.

One thing I love about Fridays tho are my travels through the blogs via My Romantic Home for Show and Tell Friday.  There are so many wonderful blogs out there full of lovely ideas and DIY projects...it's mind boggeling.

One such blog I've come across this week is A Stroll Thru Life with the pretty picture of the French piggy she has found.  Now anyone who really knows me knows I LOVE pigs!  When I first started collecting them I just went nuts.  If it looked like a pig in any shape or form I bought it.  I have tons of them and sadly to say most of them are packed away and will be yardsaled in the spring.  I've become very particular with my pigs now and had to tell my girls to stop buying them for me.  But when I saw Marty's French pig I went gaga...he is so cute.  Stop by and check him out and all the other wonderful things you can see at A Stroll Thru Life.

Looking forward to a nice family oriented weekend.  We are planning a Family Bingo night on Saturday and expect at last count 17 but I wouldn't be surprised if a few more show up.  Good thing I have a huge kitchen and a big kitchen table.  We can fit 12 at the table when it's full size.  I love my kitchen table that we purchased at IKEA right before Christmas to fit all the family.  Add a six foot folding table and we're set to go...can you all yell "BINGO"  What makes this even more fun...other than winning money..is everyone brings a snack/treat and beverages.  Should be a fun night!

I hope you all have a fun weekend with whatever your ventures may be.

I'll be studying up on how to post pictures so I can start sharing some of the neat finds at the consignment shops, thrift store and Good Will!

Here we go....Day 2

First of all I want to promise you all that I will not be boring you by starting every post with "day 3, day 4, day 5...etc.  I'm just thrilled that I was able to find my way back here to post again!!

Last night I went home and between the hubs and I were able to figure out how to post some sort of profile picture.  Now I have to figure out how to post pictures of all the things that I have been doing and buying to Shab Chic out my house.  I've had so much inspiration from all the wonderful blogs I've been visiting.  I've never seen so many crafty people in one spot!

So please bear with me while I learn and hopefully you'll see some of my awesome thrifty finds in the very near future.

Have a blessed day!

Here we go......

Hello all!

I have been super excited about starting a blog and joining this crazy world.  I've been inspired from all the beautiful Shabby Chic blogs that I've been visiting for the past month or so much to my husband dismay!

Just to give you a little background on me.  I hail from Pennsylvania just outside of Philadelphia...born and raised.  I'm a married lady with a wonderful husband who spoils me silly.  I have three grown children, one boy who is the oldest and two daughters.  Between the three of them I'm blessed to have six grandchildren and one coming to join this wacky family in August.

We just moved into a new house in July and have my mother living with us in an inlaw quarters and my oldest daughter along with her two children lives in an apartment in the basement.  When we moved into this house every wall was white and I wish I would have taken some before pictures to show the dramatic change.  So it's been a work in progress and seems it will be for a very long time.

I've always liked a country/homey feel to my decorating and always dreamed of having a home of our own (we rented for years) to do what ever I pleased and we're finally there.

What started this forray into the Shabby Chic'ish lifestyle was a simple search on "How to paint furniture" and it landed me into "My Romantic Home" blog and I've been lost in this world ever since.  So now I am driving my family nuts with wanting to paint all (well almost all) of my furniture white.  I'm in love and every blog I have visited has yielded more and more ideas and technics.

So bare with me as I try to navigate this new world and try to figure out this whole blog thing.  I look forward to making new friends and sharing my finds and my home with you all.

Any helps or suggestions that you all can give me will be greatly appreciated!
